Default Score weights are Finance-heavy. Custom ones live on the strategy.

Misano

The Score is a weighted average of five dimensions, each 0–100: Market, Finance, Moat (competitive advantage), Management, and Risk. Defaults are Finance-heavy. Custom weights live on the strategy. Changing those weights does not silently rewrite every old Score — when the book gets rescored depends on the plan.

Defaults are Finance-heavy — on purpose

  • Default weights: Finance 37.5%, Market 18.75%, Competitive advantage 18.75%, Risk 15%, Management 10%. Finance is heaviest by design for mid-market — filings numbers over qualitative impressions.
  • These are defaults, not a locked model. Every strategy can reset them. How the Score is built: misano.ai/guides/how-the-score-is-computed.
  • Barrandov Studio at default weights lands Score 77. Same company, different weights, different Score — that is the point of owning the dial.

Custom weights live on the strategy

  • Strategy in: teaser PDF or a 200–10,000 character brief. The model extracts sectors, anti-patterns, and the scoring weights. One-time, versioned.
  • Weights are part of that versioned strategy artefact — not a global account slider floating outside the thesis.
  • Strategy Fit is a separate axis (0–3 in product). It is not a sixth weight inside the 0–100 Score. Fit vs Score: misano.ai/guides/strategy-fit-is-not-the-score.

When the book gets rescored — and when it does not

  • Changing the strategy does not automatically rewrite the Score. FAQ on strategy-fit: a brief/KB move can change Fit without rewriting the Score.
  • When strategy or Knowledge Base changes, Boutique (€199/mo annual) and Institutional (€699/mo annual) include retroactive rescoring of the Watching/Passed pile. Solo (€39/mo annual) does not. Pricing: misano.ai/pricing. Buried no: misano.ai/guides/the-buried-no.
  • New scoring after a strategy change — including weights — uses the current model. Old names keep prior scores until rescored. That is why retroactive rescoring exists and is plan-gated.
  • Portfolio can rescore holdings against the current thesis. Pipeline stages and scoring: misano.ai/guides/deal-pipeline-and-scoring.

What this is not

  • Not Strategy Fit. Fit is 0–3 and separate from the weighted Score.
  • Not a claim that Solo secretly rescored Watching/Passed after a weights change. Solo does not include retroactive rescoring.
  • Not a documented slider UI walkthrough. Weights are extracted onto / set on the strategy; this guide does not invent click paths.

Frequently asked

01

What are the default Score weights?

Finance 37.5%, Market 18.75%, Competitive advantage 18.75%, Risk 15%, Management 10%. Finance is heaviest on purpose for mid-market. Every strategy can reset them. Detail: misano.ai/guides/how-the-score-is-computed.

02

Where do custom weights live?

On the strategy. From a teaser PDF or 200–10,000 character brief the model extracts sectors, anti-patterns, and the scoring weights — one-time, versioned. They are not a sixth Fit axis and not a floating global account setting.

03

Does changing weights automatically rewrite old Scores?

No. Changing the strategy does not automatically rewrite the Score. Fit can move when the brief or Knowledge Base moves without a Score rewrite. New analyses use the current weights; old names keep prior scores until rescored.

04

Which plans retroactively rescore Watching/Passed after a strategy or KB change?

Boutique and Institutional include retroactive rescoring. Solo does not. Portfolio can still rescore holdings against the current thesis. Plans: misano.ai/pricing.
