Strategy Fit is not the Score.

Misano

The Score answers “how strong is this company?” Strategy Fit answers “is it for you?” Mixing them is how a high-quality business that is not in your thesis still looks like a yes.

Two numbers, two jobs

  • Score is 0–100, five dimensions (market, financials, moat, management, risk). Math on Finance and Risk; AI judgement on the rest, with cited evidence. Full breakdown: misano.ai/guides/how-the-score-is-computed.
  • Strategy Fit is a separate axis. In the product it shows as 0–3 (a 3/3 is a textbook match). It is not a sixth weight inside the 0–100.
  • A company can be Score 77 and Fit 1. That is a good business you should not buy. The opposite also exists: Fit 3, Score 40 — in thesis, weak business.

Why folding them lies to you

  • If Fit is blended into the Score, a charming company in the wrong sector climbs the ranking. That is the screening tax with extra steps.
  • If Score is treated as Fit, you pass on names that match the thesis because the numbers are merely average. Average-in-thesis is often the actual job.

What Misano does with the split

  • Strategy in: teaser PDF or 200–10,000 character brief. The model extracts sectors, anti-patterns, and the scoring weights. Fit is judged against that brief, not against “is the market healthy.”
  • The thesis tab is gated: auto-thesis and the Investiční teze surface unlock at 3/3 Fit (existing theses are never hidden). That keeps expensive write-ups on names you would actually own.
  • Rescoring when the brief or Knowledge Base moves can change Fit without rewriting the Score. That is the same mechanism as misano.ai/guides/the-buried-no.

What this is not

  • Not a claim that Fit 3 means buy. Diligence still happens.
  • Not a rewrite of the Score essay. Weights, Barrandov, and the math stay there.
