The value band is triangulated, not asserted.

Misano

A single valuation number looks precise. For SME screening it is often fake precision. Misano prints a low / mid / high band from the multiples engine, uses the mid as the headline fair market value for a financial buyer, and shows how Damodaran DCF and NAV sit relative to that band. Triangulation, not assertion.

Where the band comes from

  • The multiples engine picks one source per metric family: custom override, then niche, then NACE baseline. No weighted blending of sources — one source, explainable. Method: misano.ai/guides/how-we-value-companies-at-scale.
  • Low / mid / high = metric × levels (EV/EBITDA, then P/E, then EV/Revenue as the cascade). Headline = mid. Heuristic adjustments (margin, size, score) appear as provenance steps, not as a second secret engine.
  • Published EV/EBITDA and EV/Sales bands for NACE divisions and niches live at misano.ai/guides/multiples — control-transaction, pre-synergy, evidence-graded.

What triangulates the mid

  • Damodaran-style FCFF DCF is an independent cross-check (own tab, delta card against the multiples valuation), not a substitute headline. Terminal growth is capped at Rf. Method detail: misano.ai/guides/how-to-value-a-private-company.
  • NAV (book equity) reconciles the income value: roughly 0.7–1.5× book is OK; outside that band the engine recommends anchor pull or an interval, depending on ROE and archetype. Deterministic, no AI.
  • Misano does not silently average multiples, DCF, and NAV into one fake-precise CZK. Each method stays visible. The football field is where they meet.

The football field

  • One CZK axis; each method a horizontal bar (NACE / niche / custom EV/EBITDA, EV/Revenue, P/E, DCF, NAV).
  • A consensus band marks CZK ranges where at least two EV methods agree. The marker tracks the cell that actually made the headline.
  • Bars flag EV vs equity basis visually — there is not yet a net-debt bridge, so the chart admits the difference instead of faking one axis.

What this is not

  • Not a strategic premium or auction top. FMV is for a financial buyer at the market median, pre-synergy. Buyer basis: misano.ai/guides/fair-market-value-for-a-financial-buyer.
  • Not advice that you must bid at the mid. Mid is the average solid company in the band; low and high exist for a reason.
  • Not a rewrite of the full valuation essay. Multiples cascade, normalization, staleness gates, NAV, DCF, and football field stay at misano.ai/guides/how-we-value-companies-at-scale.

Frequently asked

01

Why does Misano print a valuation band instead of one number?

A single point estimate looks precise and is often wrong for SME screening. Low / mid / high from the multiples engine shows the range; mid is the headline. Full method: misano.ai/guides/how-we-value-companies-at-scale.

02

Is the headline the mid of the band?

Yes. Low / mid / high = metric × levels; headline = mid (fair market value for a financial buyer at the market median). You can switch the displayed cell; the engine validates it. Buyer basis: misano.ai/guides/fair-market-value-for-a-financial-buyer.

03

Does Misano average multiples, DCF, and NAV into one number?

No. Multiples set the headline band. Damodaran DCF is an independent cross-check. NAV reconciles against book equity. The football field shows where methods agree — it does not silently blend them into fake precision.

04

Where is the full valuation methodology?

misano.ai/guides/how-we-value-companies-at-scale covers the multiples engine, normalization, staleness gates, NAV, Damodaran DCF, and the football field. The published multiples benchmark is at misano.ai/guides/multiples.
